FreeAgent Theater Power Connections
The FreeAgent Theater Unit comes with a power unit that plugs into a standard household A/C outlet and converts the 110 voltage to a Direct Current of 12 volts, 2 amps.
After plugging the power connector into the FreeAgent Theater and turning the unit on with the Remote or the Power Switch located on the top of the unit, wait for the amber power light to stop flashing. After the amber power light stops flashing the Power light will illuminate white.
Troubleshooting Power Connections
The FreeAgent Theater and all TV/Stereo components should be powered off while connecting the cables.
- Make sure the A/C outlet you are using has a constant flow of electricity and is not switchable (on/off) via a wall switch.
- If you have used a power strip to supply power to the FreeAgent Theater, make sure the power strip is in good working order and is receiving power.
- Make sure you are using the power adapter that was supplied with your FreeAgent Theater unit. Using a power adapter that supplies less than 12 volts will keep the FreeAgent Theater from powering on. Using a power adapter that supplies over 12 volts can burn the internal circuitry on the FreeAgent Theater.
- If you are using a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) or an extension cord, make sure to bypass these and plug your drive directly into an A/C outlet.
