The drive can accept commands while processing a current command and reorder the commands to save seek time. Tagged command queuing sets the priorities for reordering. To utilize these advanced features, the host adapter must be SCSI-2 compatible or newer (SCSI-3). If the host adapter is not SCSI-2 compatible, the disc drive still works, but not all of the features are implemented.
