Zone Bit Recording. A media optimization technique where the number of sectors per track is dependent upon the cylinder circumference. Tracks on the outside cylinders have more sectors per track than the inside cylinders. The ZBR format is only done at the factory. ZBR is a trademark of Seagate Technology.
